We have a slab saw that cuts 48" wide and up to 12" thick hollow core slabs in crosswise longitudinal and diagonal direction. The saw travels along the side rails of a casting bed and is powered by its own drive unit. The saw operates electromechanically and hydraulically. The sawing process is carried out manually by a joystick. Saw cuts of 0°-45°, and 90° can be made. The operator can monitor blade motor performance and adjust feeding speed accordingly. This prevents the saw blade from jamming. Very thick slabs can be cut in two phases; first to any predetermined depth and then a second cut in precisely the same place through the remaining slab. This double-cut method prevents the blade from getting caught in the middle of the slab, when a slab camber increases during cutting. The saw is powered by a 60 hp, TEFC, 230/460v, 60hz motor. All controls are mounted in a NEMA 4 enclosure. The digital readout is missing.

There is also a semi assembled 8" extruder for castings of 48" wide by 8" thick prestressed hollow core slabs. The extruder is a compact unit, without separate power and nozzle units. This construction enables one machine for one slab type. The extruder moves along the side rails of the casting bed on four wheels. The moving force of the screws rotating, compact the concrete and push the extruder forward at the rate of 65 to 75 inches per minute. Compaction is carried out with the vibration free shear compaction method. Concrete mix used shall be semi dry (w/c 0.32) with maximum aggregate size of 3/8". The extruder is lifted from one lifting point, making bed transfer fast and safe. The water volume of the concrete hopper is approx. 1 1/4 cu. yd. The hopper can be easily removed for maintenance and cleaning. All the functions are electromechanical. Power transmission from the motors to shaft mounted gear reducers by V-belt drives. This unit is without the 2 - 15 hp drive motors and gear reducers and 1 - 20 hp motor. Also, the leveling assembly is not on the machine.
